Revive! Raises nearly £2000 in Annual Get Moving for Kebsi Campaign in aid of fighting Motor Neurone Disease
Leading automotive SMART Repairer Revive! Auto Innovations has just completed the fifth running of its annual Get Moving for Kebsi Campaign. The campaign is aimed at raising funds and awareness of Motor Neurone Disease (MND) which Kevin ‘Kebsi’ Gartland, brother of Managing Director Terry Mullens sadly passed away from in 2020.
Franchise owners, technicians and head office staff along with friends and family got involved this year to run, walk, swim or cycle throughout the month of September – all to raise funds in memory of Kebsi.
In total the company raised £1975 which will be going to both MNDA and the My Name5 Doddie foundation.
The Revive! team took on a number of different challenges ranging from running 10km, performing 100 press-ups, and even climbing mount Snowden in Wales. Leading from the front however was Managing Director Mark Llewellyn, who completed the Copenhagen half marathon, with a respectable time of 2:19.06 and raised over £1,000 on his own.
Other challenges included going to the gym 6 days per week, cycling with their son and hitting their personal best weight on the bench press. One member of staff even targeted lifting 200 tonnes, the equivalent of 111 standard Revive! Vauxhall Vivaro vans.
Motor neurone disease affects the nerves known as motor neurones. These nerves are found in the brain and spinal cord and they help tell your muscles what to do. MND affects up to 5,000 adults in the UK at any one time. There is a 1 in 300 risk of getting MND across a lifetime. It can affect adults of any age but is more likely to affect people over 50.
