Q: How do you repair a scratch on a car?

A spray gun is used to apply the paint to the damaged area, blending so that the repair is contained to the smallest area possible.

HOW LONG DO SCRATCH REPAIRS TAKE?

Paint repairs typically take just a few hours. In the past, deep scratches could have resulted in the entire panel being replaced. Thanks to improvements in technology, it is now possible to have the repair carried out specifically on the affected area to get your vehicle back to showroom condition in no time at all.

WILL MY SCRATCH BUFF OUT?

If the damage is only surface level, it should come out with a buff and polish. Buffing out scratches is a faster and cheaper solution than a paint repair, but will only work if the damage has not broken the surface of the paint.

You can usually tell if a scratch has broken the surface of the paint by running your fingernail over the scratch. If your fingernail catches, then the scratch is probably too deep to buff out.
