Revive!’s Andrew Jordan completes soggy double header at Castle Combe
It may have been very wet conditions for the annual Castle Combe Autumn Classic, but that didn’t stop Revive! sponsored Andrew Jordan from taking victory in both races of the Mini Miglia series over the weekend. Andrew’s notoriously quick car stood him in good stead for the races qualifying on pole for Race 1 on Friday alongside fellow touring car veteran, Jeff Smith.
Although unfortunately out of contention for the overall series championship this year Andrew was more than happy to fight it out at the front against top contenders Jeff and Aaron Smith pushing them to their limits throughout the tight contest at the fast and flowing Wiltshire circuit. While the rain held off for the first race, the greasy conditions made for challenging racing proving a competition of grip rather than speed, but Andrew ultimately prevailed to take victory in the first race.
The second race of the weekend proved to be a much more eventful affair with Andrew lining up 3rd on the grid behind Ben Colburn and Jeff Smith. The hotly contested race finally saw the heavens open with torrential rain engulfing the track leading to a tricky race surface and causing many a spin for the competitors. In the interest of safety the race was red flagged leading to a second victory for Revive! sponsored Andrew Jordan who was leading at the time of the stoppage.
Here’s hoping for a dryer affair when the minis return to the track for the season finale at Silverstone in just three weeks’ time. You can be sure we’ll be watching on 13th and 14th October for round 16 and 17.
