Coventry Blaze Struggle to gain traction in November
It was a difficult month for the Revive! sponsored Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey team as they struggled to maintain momentum throughout November, losing eight out of the ten games played. Here’s hoping for a more fortuitous month in December and the Christmas period.
Nottingham Panthers 5 vs 2 Coventry Blaze Loss
The Coventry Blaze faced a tough defeat at the hands of their local rivals the Nottingham Panthers. Falling just short of the mark the Blaze fought hard throughout the match but only reached the net twice courtesy of Matthew Gleason and Grayson Constable.
Coventry Blaze 5 vs 3 Guildford Flames Win
Bouncing back from their hearty defeat to Nottingham, the Blaze set out a fiery proposition to the Guildford flames. The Coventry side took a mighty victory in the Bonfire Night derby. Goals came from Connor Russell, Colton Saucerman, Kim Tallberg (2) and Grayson Constable.
Manchester Storm 4 vs 2 Coventry Blaze Loss
Sadly the one match winning streak was quickly halted by the Manchester Storm who left Coventry with just two goals to soothe their wounds. They came from Sam Ruffin and Matthew Gleason
Coventry Blaze 4 vs 1 Fife Flyers Win
Bouncing back from a defeat again, the Blaze made quick work of the Fife Flyers who struggled to pick up any momentum throughout the contest. Goals came from Matthew Gleason, William Boysen, Sam Ruffin and Grant Mismash.
Coventry Blaze 3 vs 5 Nottingham Panthers Loss
Despite it being Blaze Marked Forward, Mike Pelech’s 1000th game the Nottingham Panthers were determined to rain on his parade. Coventry tried hard but were unable to stop the onslaught of Panther goals. Friendly goals came from Grant Mismash, Elijiah Barriga and Kim Tallberg.
Glasgow Clan 4 vs 1 Coventry Blaze Loss
Another defeat for the Blaze came at the sticks of the Glasgow Clan who pounced on Coventry’s slow pace to secure victory in quick measure. The sole friendly goal came from Artem Buzoverya.
Coventry Blaze 3 vs 4 Belfast Giants Loss
Coventry Blaze fought hard to return to their winning ways, but just missed the mark with the Belfast Giants. Goals came thick and fast with Belfast fighting hard to match Coventry’s drive for victory. Goals came from Matthew Gleason (2) and Elijiah Barriga But Belfast won on penalties.
Coventry Blaze 4 vs 5 Dundee Stars Loss
The Genting Casino Coventry Blaze were edged out 4-5 in an offensive firefight by the Dundee Stars at the Skydome Arena. Friendly goals came from Jere Vertanen (2) and Matthew Gleason (2).
Manchester Storm 3 vs 2 Coventry Blaze Loss
A depleted Coventry Blaze battled hard to claim a point on the road, but ultimately fell 3-2 in overtime to the Manchester Storm. Goals came from Adam Robbins and Matthew Gleason.
Coventry Blaze 1 vs 5 Sheffield Steelers Loss
Rounding out a pretty rotten month the Blaze fell once again, this time to the Sheffield Steelers who did leave Coventry with a consolation goal, slotted home by Jere Vertanen.
