Mixed month for Coventry Blaze in October
Coventry Blaze faced a scary month in October, all before Halloween, the team fell short in 5 out of their 9 games with two shut outs both at Home and Away against the Cardiff Devils. The Blaze did manage some hard-fought victories however over the Guildford Flames, Glasgow Clan, Fife Flyers and Cardiff Devils.
Cardiff Devils 5 vs 6 Coventry Blaze (WIN)
In their first of three contests against the Cardiff Devils throughout October the Blaze managed to come out on top in an incredibly close contest. Goals came from Alessio Luciani, Matthew Gleason, Sam Ruffin, Jack Hopkins, Colton Saucerman and Grant Mismash.
Coventry Blaze 2 vs 1 Guildford Flames (WIN)
It took a penalty shoot-out to split the Blaze from the Flames, with the Home side just coming out on top. Goals came from Grant Mismash and Alessio Luciani
Cardiff Devils 3 vs 0 Coventry Blaze (LOST)
Their first loss of October, the Blaze suffered a strong shut out to the Welsh side with the team looking like they struggled to get going.
Coventry Blaze 1 vs 5 Sheffield Steelers (LOST)
It seems the loss to the Devils was the start of a string of painful losses, with a second defeat coming at the hands of the Steelers, although Grant Mismash did manage to prevent a second shut out in a row.
Coventry Blaze 1 vs 6 Sheffield Steelers (LOST)
The second loss in a row to the Sheffield Steelers, the Blaze were desperate to change their fortunes but unfortunately came up short again with their sole goal coming from Grayson Constable.
Coventry Blaze 2 vs 1 Glasgow Clan (WIN)
Finally breaking their three-game losing streak, the Blaze picked up a narrow victory over the visiting Glasgow Clan. Goals came from Grant Mismash and Grayson Constable in a tight contest between the two sides.
Fife Flyers 1 vs 4 Coventry Blaze (WIN)
Starting to gain momentum the Blaze picked up a second victory against the Fife Flyers. The four goals scored is the same as their last four games combined, not exactly the stat you want to see. Goals came from Grant Mismash, Grayson Constable, William Boysen and Matthew Gleason.
Coventry Blaze 0 vs 3 Cardiff Devils (LOST)
The Cardiff Devils scored a second shut out over the Blaze. Despite maximum effort from the home side they were unable to puncture the Welsh defence.
Nottingham Panthers 5 vs 2 Coventry Blaze (LOST)
The Coventry Blaze faced a tough defeat at the hands of their local rivals the Nottingham Panthers. Falling just short of the mark the Blaze fought hard throughout the match but only reached the net twice courtesy of Matthew Gleason and Grayson Constable.
