What to Expect on the Day of Your Mobile Car Repair

So you’ve just booked your Revive! mobile repair, “what happens now?” I hear you ask. Well let me talk you through the process.

Firstly, once you have the date of the repair set one of our specialist technicians will contact you before arrival (either the evening before or in the morning of the repair date). They will confirm the repair details and your information and then give you an idea of what time to expect them.

Things to do prior to technician arrival

Before our technician arrives, it is always best to wash your cars bodywork thoroughly paying particular attention to the damaged area or areas you are wanting repaired, taking care not to damage the car further. This is so any loose dirt and grime is removed from the damaged section leaving the affected parts as clean as possible. It is of prime importance that you do not apply any protective layers as wax or ceramic coatings as these will try to repel the paint as it lands on the vehicle damaging the quality of the finish. For alloy wheel repairs it is key that you DO NOT APPLY TYRE SHINE as this leaves the surface slick with the chemicals reacting to the painting process meaning the premium finish you expect won’t be achievable.

Make sure that the area around the vehicle is free and clear of obstacles, allowing our Smart Repair technician to move around the vehicle easily. It is important to note that the vehicle must be on a private driveway owned by vehicle owner. It is illegal for Revive! to perform repairs on the public highway, meaning that we will be forced to cancel any repair booked for street parked or public car parked vehicles. Please be open and honest with our bookings team to avoid the issue of a future cancelation.

Once your Revive! technician arrives

When your technician arrives, they will make contact with you to retrieve the keys to the vehicle. They will then assess the damaged section(s) of the vehicle and discuss the repair process with you to confirm you are happy with their approach. Following this you are free to return to the comfort of your home for the duration of the repair, however if you wish to watch the process our technicians are more than happy to talk you through the steps as they happen. Believe it or not it is far more interesting than ‘watching paint dry’.

Following the completion of your repair your technician will ask you to assess the repair to confirm you are happy with the results, they will then discuss the aftercare guidelines which will guide you on how to care for your repair in the immediate future. Following payment the technician will make a final check of the area to ensure all clean up has taken place and all equipment has been returned to the van, they will then depart leaving you to enjoy your newly repaired car.
