British Touring Car Championship round 3 at Thruxton was a clear eye opener for those not aware of the bumps and thrills of BTCC. Revive!, the professional SMART repair organisation, and their sponsored driver Andrew Jordan racing in Team Pirtek started qualification with all guns blazing! Andrew drove an outstanding lap and as a result took only his second pole position in his young career. So impressive was the pole that BTCC have uploaded it to youtube.
This event showed the great skills of all the drivers as
the weather was truly awful with rain lashing down at times. Jordan’s first raced ended in disaster with a bump at the end of the first corner with Jason Plato meaning that Jordan crashed and was unable to continue in the race. The scuff on Andrew’s bumper outside of scope for Revive! and the bumper scuffs they can fix!
Starting at the back of the grid for race 2 Jordan impressively made his way through the field to 10th place and in race 3 improved from 10th to 5th.
While Jordan’s skills were to the front in terms of making progress through the field the lack of that little bit of luck for a podium finish means that it was a disappointing event and that Jordan has slipped to 6th in the overall rankings some 30 points adrift of leader Plato. The next race at Oulton Park needs to be back on track if Jordan is going to challenge at the top!
